President Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Fellowship for University of South Florida PhD programs

The University of South Florida, U.S.A. has announced applications open for the Dr. Abdul Kalam Postgraduate Fellowship for Indian students to pursue a Ph.D. degree at the university. The last date for submission of applications is 1st March, 2016.

Fellowship features

• All tuition waived for a total of up to 4 years.
• Stipend of $18,000 over the 9 months of the fall and spring semesters ($2,000 per month) for up to 4 years. The Provost's Office will pay a 9-month stipend for the 1^st year with the department/college contributing a teaching/research assistantship for up to an additional 3 years.

Note:

1. The total stipend amount will be payable by the University of South Florid once the winner of the  Fellowship is enrolled at the university for the first term.

2. Costs like housing at the university, air fare, etc. will be met by the awardee.

Eligibility criteria

1. You should be a graduate from or about to graduate from an Indian University.

2. You should be seeking to pursue a Ph. D. degree in the above-mentioned subjects at the University of South Florida.

(i) A letter expressing interest describing your academic success and area of intended study

(ii) Curriculum Vitae
(iii) Statement of research and evidence of scholarly activity
(iv) 3 letters of recommendation on the academic and/or professional letterhead
