NCERT National Awards for Innovative Practices and Experiments in Education Project Proposals 2018

The Department of Teacher Education, National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT), Delhi invites project proposals from Teachers and Teachers' Educators who are working in all recognized schools and teacher education institutions for undertaking innovative practices and experiments. Submission of the project proposal should be sent by 31st July 2018.

Number of Awards
1. For School Teachers:
Pre-primary/Primary/Elementary school: 20
Secondary/Senior Secondary Schools: 20

2. For Teacher Educators:
Teacher Education Institutions at Pre-primary/Primary/Elementary levels: 10
Teacher Education Institutions at Secondary level: 10

Who can participate
1. School Teachers  
(i) A teacher of Pre-school (pre-primary), Elementary (primary and upper primary), secondary and senior secondary school recognised by State Board/CBSE or any other recognised Board; and 
(ii) Teacher of any recognised Special Education School. 

2. Teacher Educators  
(i) Teacher educators of Teacher Education Institutions at Pre-primary/Primary/Upper primary/Secondary level offering Teacher Education Programs;  
(ii) Teacher educators of Colleges of Education including CTEs, IASEs and University Departments of Education offering B.Ed./M.Ed., B.El.Ed., B.A.B.Ed. and B.Sc.Ed. programs; and  
(iii) Faculty members of State Councils of Educational Research and Training (SCERTs) and State Institutes of Education (SIEs) offering teacher education programs.   





Project Proposal Scope
You can undertake an innovation or conduct an experiment on any aspect of your work as a teacher or a teacher educator which is related to teaching-learning, training or management of schools/colleges of teacher education, with the aim to increase the efficiency of the institution through dealing with problems and ensuring smooth functioning. These could include the development of curricular materials, devising new instructional strategies, etc. (refer to the official notification for more examples).

Submission Rules
1. The innovation should be based on the original work of individual. 
2. The Project Report should be of approximately 5,000 words excluding appendices and along with its summary should be in about 500 words.
3. The Project Report may be written in English/Hindi or any other regional language. However, the profile of the institution must be attached as given in English or Hindi even if the paper is written in a regional language.  In case the report is written in regional language, the title should also be given in English/Hindi.

How to apply
Submit project proposal in given format to the Principal, Regional Institute of Education (RIE) of the region concerned (Annexure-1 in the official notification) latest by 31st July 2018.

After acceptance
If your project proposal has been approved, you will implement the proposal. Subsequently, selected schools/institutions will be visited by NCERT faculty for on-the-spot observation and interaction with the Project coordinator/Head of the school/institution.
