United Nations Volunteers (UNV) internship program at Bonn, Germany
Are you looking for an interesting off-beat internship program abroad? The United Nations Volunteers (UNV) is offering internships at its headquarters in Bonn, Germany.You will acquire valuable educational experience through practical work. Those who have a demonstrated interest in the field of development & work of international organizations can apply for the internship program. Interns are accepted generally for a period of 2 to 4 months.
Eligibility requirements
1. Educational qualifications
You should have completed your Bachelor degree & be currently enrolled in a Master's degree program or equivalent. Those who will definitely return to their academic studies on completion of their internship assignments are eligible to apply.
2. Field of study
Depending on the type of assignment, a field of study would be considered. However, preference is for fields related to development, such as international relations, public or business administration, environmental studies, economics, sociology or anthropology.
3. Language skills
You must be proficient in both written and spoken English. You should also preferably have proficiency in an additional UN language, namely Chinese, Russian, Arabic, French or Spanish.
Financial costs & benefits
1. The internship program is operating on a non-remunerative basis. That is, it is your responsibility / responsibility of your sponsor or government to cover the requisite expenses incurred & also make the necessary arrangements for travel, visas, accommodation and living expenses.
2. You will need to provide evidence of adequate medical insurance coverage.UNV will not be responsible for providing medical insurance for you. UNV will also not be responsible for any costs arising from accidents and/or illness during the internship period.
Employment opportunities
While some interns have had the opportunity to take up further assignments with UNV or other organizations of the United Nations,the UNV internship program will not necessarily lead to employment with UNV or other UN organizations.
