Nehru Memorial Museum and Library Delhi Research Fellowships 2021

The Nehru Memorial Museum and Library (NMML), New Delhi is offering research fellowships to scholars. Details on the topics of research and eligibility criteria, as well as the application procedure, have been provided.

About NMML

The Nehru Memorial Museum and Library (NMML), New Delhi is under the aegis of the Ministry of Culture, Govt. of India. The visionary Founders of this autonomous institution were keen to not just showcase the life and the extraordinary work of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, the first Prime Minister of India but also to provide a glimpse into facets of Indian history, especially during the early years of its freedom from British rule. Expanding on the vision, other units were also set up.

There is a well-stocked library to provide exhaustive research sources on the past and modern history as well. The library has not just printed materials and photographs, but also meticulously saved material in the form of microfilms and microfiche. Manuscripts and records of people and organizations that played a major role in India's history are also available for scholars. The other associated unit is a Centre for Contemporary Studies that organizes seminars and workshops in addition to encouraging research work. The Nehru Planetarium is on the same campus grounds as NMML organizes space science programs and activities for school and college students and for those interested in astronomy in general.

Then there are the Fellowships offered by NMML. These are much sought after by both, established eminent scholars, as well as those students keen to take up research in various aspects of Indian history and contemporary studies. That is not surprising, with such a rich repertoire of research materials at hand to enable you to publish research work that will surely be beneficial for a variety of people, including historians, academicians, news agencies, and future budding scholars.
