How to get funding for Agri Startups through Pusa Krishi Incubation Program

Based in Delhi, Pusa Krishi is a unique hub set up through a collaborative initiative of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research and the Indian Agricultural Research Institute (ICAR-IAR). Under this initiative, you can get mentorship and funding for innovations in the agricultural sector. Other services include support for intellectual property management, and providing opportunities to network with MSMEs and corporate firms. 

Pusa Krishi is now inviting applications for ideas, pre-seed, and seed-stage startups for 2024.

Benefits

  • You will receive a 45-day business and technical mentoring, product validation, and other support.
  • A Grant of up to Rs. 4 lakhs is offered for students' ideas/innovations.
  • A Grant of up to Rs. 5 lakhs is offered for pre-seed startups.
  • A Grant of up to Rs. 25 lakhs is offered for seed startups.

Who can apply

Only Indian citizens can apply. You should be willing to contribute to the agriculture sector with an innovation, idea, product or solution for agriculture. There are two programs, for which the specific eligibility criteria are as follows-

1. UPJA 2024

This program is to support a Minimum Viable Product (MVP), and innovations are market-ready for commercial purposes.  & Market Ready Innovations

Grant Amount: up to INR 25,00,000/-


2. ARISE 2024

This program is to support a viable business idea and prototype-stage startups. An entrepreneur with a legal entity as well as students who have an innovative idea even without a formally-registered startup can apply.

Grant Amount: up to INR 5,00,000/-

You have to fill in the application form and upload relevant documents as well as a presentation in the prescribed template that is provided there. 

The last date to submit applications is 30th April 2024 up to 11.59.59 p.m.

Outhouse Hindi Film Review

Outhouse directed by Sunil Sukthankar and produced by Mohan Agashe, also playing one of the characters, is a charming film on the generational divide. The film was screened last month at the Third Eye Asian Film Festival in Mumbai and Thane, Maharashtra. On the face of it, Outhouse is about two elders, namely Nana, played by Agashe, and Aadima played by Sharmila Tagore who find themselves in conflict over the rightful owner of her grandson Neel’s pet poodle after it goes missing. But within that story arc, the writer, the late Sumitra Bhave, makes the film a gentle paean on urban loneliness, working women’s struggles, the precocity of children, and the fraught terrain of marriages and peripatetic lives.
