DRDO Junior Research Fellowships at CEPTAM New Delhi

Defence Research & Development Organization (DRDO), the Research and Development section of the Ministry of Defence, Govt. of India is offering Junior Research Fellowships (JRFs) to Graduates and Postgraduates with Computer Science as the main discipline and having the relevant programming and IT skills. The two Fellowships are for DRDO's Centre for Personnel Talent Management (CEPTAM), New Delhi, but note that selection for a JRF does not mean absorption in DRDO. JRF Main Features

1. You will be offered the JRF for an initial period of 2 years. This may be upgraded to a Senior Research Fellowship (SRF) as per the recommendations of the Internal Screening Committee.

2. You will be posted at CEPTAM, DRDO. Address- Metcalfe House, Civil lines, Delhi- 110054.

3. Fellowship Emolument: You will receive Rs. 37,000/- per month + HRA and other facilities as per Govt. rules.

4. As per Govt. rules, relevant procedures like medical tests, police verification, etc will be conducted.

Eligibility requirements

1. Age criterion: Your age should not be over 28 years as of the date of eligibility. Relaxation of age for applicants in the SC/ST/OBC categories will be given as per Govt. norms. 

2. Academic Qualifications: You must have a Graduate Degree in a Professional course, that is, B.E. or B. Tech. in the below-mentioned disciplines in the First Division and also qualify with NET/GATE or have a Postgraduate Degree in a Professional course, that is, M.E. or M. Tech. in the following disciplines in the First Division in the qualifying exams of the Graduate/Postgraduate Degree course. You must have both degrees in any one of the disciplines mentioned below.

• Computer Science & System Engg 
• Software Engg/ Technology 
• Computer Science & Automation Engg/ Tech 
• Information Technology

• Information Science & Engg/Technology 
• Computer & Communication Engg 
• Computer Networking 
• Information Technology & Mathematical Innovations 
• Any other relevant discipline with a qualifying degree which mentions Computer Science as the main discipline  

2. The following skills are desirable-

• Programming Skills: .NET, Java, XML, PHP, Python
• Database Management Skills: SQL server, My SQl
• AI and Machine Learning Skills
• Data Analytics and Data Science Skills
• Server and Network Administration Skills

Application procedure

The first step is to download the application form from the official website of DRDO

Next, fill in the application form in your own handwriting, and attach a single PDF file having self-attested copies of relevant mark sheets, the provisional/final degree, proof of age, the caste certificate (if applicable) and the valid GATE/NET score card (if applicable) as on the date of eligibility. 

The final step is to send the application with the attached PDF file by email to_jrf.ceptam@gov.in on or before the closing date of applications.

The closing date for applications is 21 days from the date of publication of the notification in the Employment News.

Important notes

Those of you who are working in Govt./Public Sector Undertakings/Autonomous Bodies should apply through the proper channel.

You must produce all the relevant documents in original along with the completed application form, ID card, address proof (Aadhar, Voter ID, etc.), and two recent passport-size coloured photos at the time of document verification or as and when required by CEPTAM.

Selection procedure

The members of a Screening Committee will shortlist eligible candidates from the applications received and interview them at CEPTAM, Delhi or at a venue as decided by the Director of CEPTAM. If you are called for the interview, you have to make your own accommodation arrangements and expenses for travel will not be reimbursed by CEPTAM.
