The full form of IB is International
Baccalaureate. The International Baccalaureate Organization, which is based in Geneva, Switzerland,
offers 4 programs for students aged 3 to 19 years. More than 100 countries including
India
offer the IB programs.
2. The IB Middle Years Program (age 11 years to 16 years) has 8 subject groups:
At the end of the program, students have to take an exam which is marked by external IB examiners. In addition, students must complete assessment tasks in the school. Marks given for each course are from 1 (lowest) to 7 (highest). Students can also be awarded up to 3 additional points for their combined results on theory of knowledge and the extended essay. A student is awarded the diploma on gaining a minimum of 24 points but also considered are the minimum levels of performance across the entire program. A student can be awarded 45 points at the most for the Diploma Program.
Medium of instruction: the school can teach in English, French or Spanish
4. The IB Career-related Certificate program (age 16 years to 19 years): Under this program, the school offers career-related courses based on local career opportunities & student needs.
IB Programs & Curriculum
1. The IB Primary Years Program (age 3
years to 12 years) has 6 subjects:
- Language
- Mathematics
- Science
- Arts
- Social Studies
- Personal, social & physical education
Students also work on a written curriculum
which incorporates various themes, namely:
- Who we are
- Where we are (place and time)
- How we express ourselves
- How the world works
- How we organize ourselves
- Sharing the planet
In their final year the students are
involved with an exhibition focusing on how to deal with issues in one’s actual
life & today’s world.
Medium of instruction: the school can teach
in any language.

In their final year, students have to work on a
personal project as a demonstration of their skills and understanding.

years to 19 years) gives students the option of taking up 1 subject from each
of 5 groups (groups 1 to 5):
- 2 languages
- Social Sciences
- Experimental sciences
- Mathematics
