2014 NCFE-NFLAT for school students

The National Centre for Financial Education (NCFE) is conducting the National Financial Literacy Assessment Test (NFLAT) for school students of Classes VIII to X. The registration for the test has to be done through the schools. The registration process closes on 7th November 2014.

Eligibility
You should be a student of Class VIII to X enrolled in a school affiliated to any recognized educational boards or trusts in India. Students of private coaching institutes and similar entities cannot register for NFLAT.

About NFLAT
Students who appear for NFLAT can get equipped with basic financial skills by knowing their level of financial literacy. The topics covered are:
  • Money
  • Savings
  • Banking
  • Budgeting
  • Insurance
  • Risk management
  • Investment
  • Stocks and Bonds
  • Retirement planning
Number of questions: 75 multiple choice questions, with combinations of 1, 2 and 3-marks questions. There is also a negative marking of 25% for wrongly attempted questions.

Duration: 1 hour

Medium: Hindi and English

Fee: There is no fee for the NFLAT test

Awards
1. For Students: The top 5 students at national level & Top 3 students from each region (North, South, East, West, Central) will receive a medal, laptop and Certificate of Accomplishment
+ other prizes

2. For Schools: The top 25 schools based on highest number of student participation (not registration) in the test will receive Rs. 25000/- and a Trophy/ Shield
+ other prizes

How to Register for NFLAT
A student cannot register directly, but must do so through his/her school only. Due to limited seats, the seats allotted will be on first come first served basis. The school should register itself first and then its students.

Note: Students must bring their own ball point pen.

  • Results Declaration: 19th December 2014
