How to apply online for Maharashtra MAH-LLB three year CET-2016 exam registration

The State Common Entrance Test Cell, Government of Maharashtra is conducting the common entrance test (CET) for admission to the three year full time regular degree course in law. The admissions are for the 3-year full time regular degree course in law in Government, aided and unaided institutes in the State of Maharashtra. For the 5-year UG CET refer:



Eligibility requirements of MAH-LLB 3 year CET-2016
  • You must be an Indian citizen.
  • If you are in category of NRI, PIO, OCI or foreign national student, then if you are having the following academic qualification eligibility, you do not need to appear for CET. You should then apply only for CAP rounds:
(i) You should be a graduate in any faculty of any recognized University in Maharashtra or an equivalent recognized National institution recognized as a Deemed to be University or a Foreign University recognized as equivalent with minimum 45% marks in aggregate (40% marks in the qualifying exam for SC/ST category candidates).
(ii) You should have passed the undergraduate degree and or 2/3 years PG degree from a recognized university as mentioned above in (i) after processing the studies in the pattern of 10+2+3 or 10+2+3+2/3 with regular studies at secondary or higher secondary schooling is eligible.
  • If you have obtained First Degree Certificate by distance or correspondence method, then you will be considered as eligible for CET of the 3-years law courses. Note that if you have passed the qualifying exam (10+2, U.G. and or P.G.) in a single sitting exam without having the basic qualification of 10+2+3, then you are not eligible for the CET.
  • If you are having a degree contrary of the UGC Act and regulations and it is contrary to the Rules of Legal Education, then you are not eligible for the CET.
  • If you are appearing/appeared for the qualifying exam (regular exam of that academic year), then you are eligible to apply for the CET. You will become eligible for admission only if you produce the provisional/Degree certificate of the qualifying exam and the mark lists of all parts of the qualifying exam at the time of admission.
Note: there is no upper age limit for admission to the 3-year LLB course.

Format of MAH-LLB 3 year CET-2016
1. The entrance test will be conducted only in online mode in multiple sessions if required.

2. The CET is of 150 marks and comprises of multiple choice objective type questions in the following areas:
  • Legal aptitude and legal reasoning – 30 marks
  • General knowledge with current affairs – 40 marks
  • Logical and analytical reasoning – 30 marks
  • English – 50 marks
Note: there is no negative marking for this CET.

How to register
1. You must register and confirm the online application form at: www.dhepune.gov.in and www.mahacet.org

2. Pay the application form processing fees as mentioned below through the online system only by internet payment, credit card/debit card [RuPay/Visa/Master Card/Maestro], the payment gateway for which the service charges are to be paid by the candidate in addition to the application form processing fees. No other mode of payment is permitted.

Application form processing fee
  • Rs.650/- for open category candidates from Maharashtra, outside Maharashtra State (OMS candidates), J & K migrant candidates
  • Rs.350/- for candidates of Backward Class categories (SC, ST, VJ/DT-NT(A), NT(B), NT(C), NT(D), OBC, SBC) belonging to Maharashtra State only.
Important notes
1. Do not send your application by post, courier or other means. It will be rejected. Application must be made online only.

2. You do not need to submit any documents at this stage, but ensure that you have the necessary documents ready at the time of document verification stage of the admission process.

3. Those belonging to the backward class categories (as stated in the fees notification above) will have to submit ‘Caste Certificate’ issued by the competent authority and the candidates belonging to the ST category must submit ‘Tribe Validity Certificate’ issued by Scrutiny Committee of Tribal Department along with caste certificate and excepting SC, ST candidates all category candidates must submit valid Non-Creamy layer certificate at the time of verification of admission.

Schedule of Important dates
  • Online registration begins: 10th May 2016
  • Online registration ends: 23rd May 2016
  • Issue of Hall ticket through log-in of successfully registered candidates: 6th June 2016
  • Date of online MAH-LL.B. 3 year CET-2016: 19th June 2016
  • Declaration of results: 30th June 2016, 5p.m.
Candidates are requested to download and read the detailed guidelines of the CET for filling in the online application. Requests for change of venue, centre, time slot will not be entertained.

For the CET you must have the following document to show at the CET centre: Original photo ID proof, such as Aadhar Card, PAN card, Driving license, latest college ID. If you do not produce this document, then you will be disqualified and will not be allowed to appear for the exam.
