Asha School Agra for special children

Set up in October 1988, Asha School in Agra is under the aegis of the Army Wives Welfare Association (AWWA). The school provides education and facilities for the rehabilitation of children with special needs. Children also develop good communication and social skills and are made aware of personal hygiene. Medical checkups are scheduled from time to time. In addition to qualified faculty, there are also special therapists on the staff.

Campus facilities and activities

All over the campus, the facilities and equipment are designed so as to be child-friendly, safe and easily accessible to children with special needs. Thus there is specially created furniture in the classrooms, and the washrooms are also designed accordingly. There are separate areas for activities, with rooms dedicated to sensory therapy, music therapy, physical exercise equipment to develop motor skills, etc.

In addition to art and craft activities, the children are taught to develop simple vocational skills such as baking, sewing, making candles, etc A unique feature of the school is the collaboration with the Welcome Group, the well-known hospitality group that has a chain of hotels all over India. Thanks to this collaboration, the students get the opportunity to receive training in housekeeping roles and other fields.
