Indian Navy 10+2 B.Tech. Cadet Entry Scheme July 2025 - Join to become Permanent Commissioned Officers
The Indian Navy has released the notification inviting online applications from interested candidates to become Permanent Commissioned Officers in Executive and Technical branches under the 10+2 B Tech Cadet Entry Scheme after undergoing a four-year B Tech course at the Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala. The branch allocation will be undertaken at the INA. There are 36 vacancies for the July 2025 entry, which may change as per the availability of training slots. The closing date to apply is 20th December 2024.
Eligibility Requirements
Gender: Both men and women can apply with a maximum of seven vacancies for women.
Marital status: Only unmarried candidates can apply.
Age criterion: Those who are born between 2nd January 2006 and 1st July 2008 (both dates inclusive) can apply.
Educational Qualifications: You should have passed the Senior Secondary Exam (10+2 pattern) or its equivalent exam from any recognised Board with at least 70% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM) and at least 50% marks in English (either in Class X or Class XII).
Additional requirement: Candidates should have appeared for the JEE (Main) - 2024 exam (for B.E/ B. Tech). The call-up for the Service Selection Board (SSB) will be issued based on the JEE (Main) All India Common Rank List (CRL) - 2024 published by NTA.
Medical requirements: You will be required to undergo a medical examination as applicable to the 10+2 (B Tech) entry. Guidelines for the medical standards are available on the Indian Navy website.
Application Procedure
Interested candidates should first register at the official recruitment website of the Indian Navy and then submit their application on the same portal. Ensure that you fill in details correctly as given as mentioned in the Matriculation Certificate/12th class certificate
The following documents are required to be scanned and kept ready for uploading-
- Date of Birth proof (as mentioned in the 10th/12th certificates)
- The 10th class mark sheet
- The 12th class mark sheet
- The JEE(Main)-2024 Score card [indicating Common Rank List (CRL)]
- A recent passport-size colour photo in JPG/TIFF format
Important Notes-
- It is advisable to scan the photo and documents in original for better clarity.
- Make sure that you enter your JEE (Main) All India rank as per the Common Rank List (CRL) in the application.
- After submitting the application, you should take a printout of it and bring it along with all the original certificates/documents when appearing for the SSB interview.
Selection Procedure
Candidates will be shortlisted for SSB based on the JEE (Main) All India Common Rank List (CRL) - 2024 with the SSB interviews scheduled from March 2025 onwards. The shortlisted candidates will receive an intimation from the Naval Headquarters via SMS and email as per the contact details provided in their applications. Accordingly, candidates should download the call-up letter and attend the SSB interviews which will be conducted at Bangalore/Bhopal/ Kolkata/Visakhapatnam. A merit list will be prepared based on the marks obtained in the SSB interview. Candidates who are declared fit as per the medical examination will be appointed subject to police verification and character verification, and availability of vacancies in the cadet entry scheme.
Training Details
If you are selected, you will be inducted as Cadets for the four-year B. Tech Course in one of the following branches as per Naval requirements-
- Applied Electronics & Communication Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering
- Electronics & Communication Engineering
The entire cost of training, including books and reading material, will be borne by the Indian Navy. The cadets will also be provided with entitled clothing and messing
On completing the course, you will be awarded the B. Tech Degree by the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU). Note that the distribution of cadets amongst the Executive and Technical Branch (Engineering & Electrical) will be as per the current policy.
