KVPY National Fellowships for students of basic sciences

The Department of Science and Technology, Government of India has issued the notification for applications for the 2014 Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY) National Fellowships for students who are keen on pursuing a research career. Scholarships are awarded up to the pre-Ph.D. level to the KVPY Fellows. The Fellowship will be effective from 1st August, 2015.

Who can Apply 
Students enrolled in courses for basic sciences in the current academic year and having an aptitude for scientific research (see details of streams below). A few additional fellowships for SC/ST students as well as for Persons with Disabilities (Physically and Visually Challenged) will be offered too.

 



KVPY Fellowships Streams

1. Stream SA
For students enrolled in Std.XI Science subjects during the academic year 2014-2015 & aspiring to join an undergraduate program in basic sciences during the academic year 2016-2017. The basic sciences: B.Sc./B.S./B.Stat./B.Math/Int.M.Sc./M.S.

2. Stream SX

For students enrolled in +2/Std.XII during the academic year 2014-2015 & aspiring to join an undergraduate program in basic sciences during the academic year 2015-2016. The basic sciences: B.Sc./B.S./B.Stat./B.Math/Int.M.Sc./M.S.

3. Stream SB

For students enrolled in first year B.Sc./B.S./B.Stat./B.Math/Int.M.Sc./M.S. in basic sciences during the academic year 2014-2015.

Selection Process

The selection process involves:

• Screening of the application by a committee
• Appearing for an aptitude test at various centres in India
• Based on the performance in the aptitude test, students are short-listed for an interview

Note: to receive a fellowship, both aptitude test and interview marks are considered.
