2015-2016 ICMR International Fellowships for Indian biomedical scientists

The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) invites applications from Indian biomedical scientists for the International Fellowships for the year 2015-2016. The fellowships can be availed of by both young scientists and senior scientists. Applications should be submitted by 10th March, 2015.

Number of fellowships
  • For Young scientists: 12
  • For Senior scientists: 6
Duration
  • For Young scientists: 3 to 6 months
  • For Senior scientists: 10 to 15 days
Eligibility criteria
  • For Young scientists

  1. Age: below 45 years
  2. Educational qualification: M.D./Ph.D.
  3. Experience: At least 3 years teaching/research experience
  • For Senior scientists

  1. Age: below 57 years
  2. Educational qualification: M.D./Ph.D.
  3. Experience: At least 15 years teaching/research experience
Additionally, for both young & senior scientists: Regular position in a recognized biomedical/research/health institution in India

Financial support
  • For Young scientists: US$3000 per month, contingency grant of Rs.20,000/- and return economy class air ticket (excursion airfare)
  • For Senior scientists: US$200 per day (including US$75 as per diem and US$125 is for accommodation), contingency grant of Rs.20,000/- and return economy class air ticket (excursion airfare)
Important Notes
1. You should submit a letter of acceptance from the foreign institute where you propose to work along with a concrete plan of training/research work to be undertaken during the fellowship

2. A recommendation by the Head of the parent organization/institute is essential

3. Incomplete application will not be accepted

4. If selected, you should avail of the fellowship before 28th February, 2016
