2015 Singapore Airlines Youth Scholarship for Indians for pre-University studies in Singapore

Want to pursue pre-university studies in Singapore? Singapore Airlines has announced the application notification for Indian students desirous of pursuing pre-University studies in selected Singapore Junior Colleges. The scholarship leads to the award of the Singapore-Cambridge General Certificate of Education ‘Advanced’ (GCE ‘A’) Level (or equivalent) certificate. The last date to apply is 12th July, 2015.

Scholarship features
  • The scholarship is for 2 years of pre-University studies in selected Singapore Junior Colleges. It will be renewed annually, subject to your satisfactory performance.
  • The college cannot be selected by you. The choice of the junior college as well as location of hostel will be decided by the Ministry of Education, which will try to post scholars to hostels close to their junior college.
  • The medium of instruction for all the subjects (except mother tongue, such as Chinese, Malay and Tamil) is English.
  • You can return home at your own cost during the school vacations, if you do not have any school activities. However, if you wish to return home during the school term, you will need the prior approval of the principal of the college before returning to your home country.
Scholarship includes:
  • An annual allowance of S$2,400 with hostel accommodation.
  • A settling-in allowance of S$500 (once only).
  • Return economy class air passage.
  • Coverage of school fees (excluding miscellaneous fees - you will be required to pay any miscellaneous fees that the college may charge).
  • Coverage of GCE ‘A’ Level examination fees (once only).
  • Subsidised medical benefits and accident insurance cover.
Eligibility criteria
  • You must be an Indian national.
  • You should be born between 1997 and 1999.
  • You should have completed Class 10 in this year, that is 2015.
  • You should have an excellent academic record, with at least an average of  85% / minimum ‘A’ with English as first language in the Class 10 State/National examination.
  • If you are a student studying in a Singapore school, then you are not eligible to apply for this scholarship.
Important dates
  • Last date to apply: 5 June to 12 July 2015
  • Selection test (to be conducted in New Delhi): End August to early September 2015
  • Selection interview (to be conducted in New Delhi): End October to early November 2015 
  • Scholarship will be awarded in: mid to late November 2015 
  • Arrival of scholar in Singapore: mid-January 2016 

How to apply


You can apply online and you can submit only one application. In case you have any problem during the online application process, you can contact Customer Service Centre at +65 6872 2220.

1. Submit your application at:  https://isams.sg/azs/index.do?schmCat=INDIA. This mode is preferred to sending hard copy.

2. Send the following certified copies directly to the Singapore Ministry of Education. The documents should arrive before the closing date, which is 12th July 2015 (7.30p.m. India time):
  • Your birth certificate
  • Your Identity Card / Passport (if any)
  • The Final Examination Result Slips for the last 2 years (Standard 9 final examinations and Standard 10 State/National Board examinations)
3. Send to:

Important note: If there are any original documents which are not in English, these must be translated to English and the translated documents must be accompanied by a photocopy of the original documents. You should not send any original documents as they will not be returned. There will be also be no acknowledgement of receipt of documents.
