Dadasaheb Phalke Chitranagari Mumbai online Marathi Scriptwriting Camp 2021

Always wanted to get training from experts to write a Marathi script for a film? Here's an exciting opportunity for budding scriptwriters! An online scriptwriting camp is scheduled this year, a collaboration between Maharashtra Film, Stage and Cultural Development Corporation Limited (MFSCDCL), which is also known as "Dadasaheb Phalke Chitranagari" and National Film Development Corporation (NFDC).

About the MFSCDCL camp


Approximately eight to 10 applicants will be selected for the camp. The aim is to encourage young talent from Maharashtra and create film projects under the mentorship of well-known professionals in the Marathi film industry who are renowned in their field. The training modules in an online classroom setup will be for the duration of four to five months, totally of 15 to 18 days.

You will also get assistance from MFSCDCL and NFDC to pitch the finalized script to reputed film producers and production houses. 

Registration fee: Rs. 2,000/-. This is a non-refundable fee and should be paid through NEFT/RTGS/IMPS only.


Eligibility requirements

1. Age criteria: You should be a minimum of 18 years of age as of March 2021. 

2. Work profile: Professional and upcoming filmmakers and screenwriters who want to make their feature film in Marathi can register for this camp. You may have been involved in some way professionally in filmmaking or scriptwriting, whether as a director of a feature film or of a short film, or assisted on one, or attended a professional filmmaking/screenwriting course. In that case, you are required to mention this in your work profile when registering for the camp. 

3. Script criteria: You need to submit a a script in Marathi only, for a feature-length film. Scripts for a short film will not be accepted.

Registration process

Also to be submitted: 

(i) You must submit a synopsis of the script. The synopsis should not exceed 300 words. 

(ii) You must submit a minimum of the first 50 pages of the script (or above) only in PDF format. 

(iii) You need to state the reason why you are applying for this camp.

(iv) You should mention relevant work done as mentioned in the work profile above, and can also put in a link to any relevant past work/showreel at the time of submission of the application.
