Central Footwear Training Institute Chennai Summer Camp on Footwear Drawing and Sketching 2024

The Central Footwear Training Institute (CFTI), Guindy, Chennai, Tamil Nadu which is an autonomous institution under the aegis of the Ministry of Micro Small & Medium Enterprises, Govt. of India is organizing a summer camp on the basics of drawing and sketching of footwear. Two batches will be scheduled this month at the MSME-Technology Centre of CFTI, with a tour of CFTI included as part of the training program.

 General Information

Number of seats: There are approximately 20 to 25 seats per batch, with two batches this month.

Eligibility: 7th Std. No age bar.


Summer Camp Learning Modules

In addition to a tour of CFTI, the topics of the program on the basics of drawing and sketching include-

  • Basic Sketching
  • Introduction to Footwear Sketching
  • Footwear Sketching Practice Sessions

Batch Dates and Timings

Batch 1: 8th April 2023 to 13 April 2024 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Batch 2: 22nd April to 26th April 2024 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Summer Camp Fees

The total fee is Rs. 3000/- including lunch and snacks. For those below 10th Std. there is a 50% discount, and it is totally free for SC and ST category candidates.

Outhouse Hindi Film Review

Outhouse directed by Sunil Sukthankar and produced by Mohan Agashe, also playing one of the characters, is a charming film on the generational divide. The film was screened last month at the Third Eye Asian Film Festival in Mumbai and Thane, Maharashtra. On the face of it, Outhouse is about two elders, namely Nana, played by Agashe, and Aadima played by Sharmila Tagore who find themselves in conflict over the rightful owner of her grandson Neel’s pet poodle after it goes missing. But within that story arc, the writer, the late Sumitra Bhave, makes the film a gentle paean on urban loneliness, working women’s struggles, the precocity of children, and the fraught terrain of marriages and peripatetic lives.
