National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) 2025 - Dates, Eligibility, Registration Process
The Council of Architecture (COA), which is an autonomous statutory body of the Ministry of Education, Govt. of India, has announced that the National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) 2025 will be conducted on designated Fridays in the afternoon and on Saturdays in two sessions from March 2025 to June 2025, subject to the number of candidates registered for the session. Registration for NATA 2025 begins on 3rd February 2025.
Brief Overview
The National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) is a national-level test for students keen to pursue a career in architecture. The Council of Architecture has redesigned the format of NATA 2025 in keeping with contemporary times. The scores obtained through NATA will enable students to qualify for admission to the first year of the 5-year Bachelor of Architecture program offered at COA-approved Architectural institutions for 2025-2026.
NATA 2025 Schedule
NATA 2025 will commence from 1st March onwards till June 2025.
On Fridays: There will be no morning session. The afternoon session will be from 1.30 p.m. to 4.30 p.m. (three hours).
On Saturdays: There will be a morning session from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. (three hours), and an afternoon session (three hours).
NATA 2025 Format
The test is in two parts:-
1. Part A is a Drawing and Composition Test of 80 marks. This is an offline test for 90 minutes with three components-
- A1 - Composition and Colour (25 marks)
- A2 - Sketching and Composition (black and white) (25 marks)
- A3 - 3D Composition (30 marks)
2. Part B is a computer-based adaptive online test of 120 marks. It is for 90 minutes with two types of questions, namely, B1 MCQs and B2 NCQs on these topics-
- Visual Reasoning
- Logical Derivation
- G.K., Architecture, and Design
- Language Interpretation
- Design Sensitivity and Thinking
- Numerical Ability
You are eligible to appear for NATA 2025 if you fulfill any of the following criteria:
- Passed or are appearing in a 10+1 exam in PCM subjects
- Passed or are appearing in a 10+2 exam in PCM subjects
- Passed or are appearing in a 10+3 Diploma exam with Mathematics as a subject
Application Procedure
Registration for NATA 2025 should be done online at https://www.nata.in/
Fill in your personal details, upload the required documents, and make the online fee payment. Upon the successful payment of the fee, you should download and take a printout of the confirmation page.
The NATA 2025 Application Fee (non-refundable) is as follows-
- For General/ OBC (N-CL) candidates: Rs. 1750/- per test
- For SC/ST/EWS/ PwD candidates: Rs. 1250/- per test
- For Transgender candidates: Rs. 1000/- per test
- For outside India candidates: Rs. 15,000/-
Note: Those who are initially opting for a single test/two tests may further opt for an additional test at a later stage, but should not exceed three attempts.
After Registration
You must download the Appointment Card which will be generated as per the schedule notified indicating the allotted Test Centre, session and Appointment number for NATA 2025.
At the Test Centre
You must bring the original hard copy of the downloaded Appointment Card as well as an original photo ID proof, such as the Aadhaar card/Passport/Driving License/Voter ID/any other valid photo ID document.
