Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology PG Admissions 2025 - Eligibility, Fees, Schedule, Application Procedure

The Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology (IIST), Thiruvananthapuram, has released the notification for admission to the M.Tech. and Master of Science postgraduate programs for the academic year 2025-26. Interested students should submit their online applications and pay the application fee by 12th June 2025. Sponsored candidates are also welcome to apply.

Overview

The Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology (IIST), Thiruvananthapuram, is an autonomous Deemed to be University under the Department of Space, Govt. of India. It offers educational and research programs in the fields of space science, space technology, space applications, and associated basic sciences.

M.Tech students with a valid GATE score will receive a scholarship through AICTE, while those students who get admission into the Master of Science program are eligible for a scholarship from IIST.

Program Fee

First Semester: Rs. 55,700/-

Second Semester: Rs. 49,200/-

Eligibility Requirements

  1. You must be a citizen of India.
  2. You should have a B.E./B.Tech./Master of Science or equivalent degree in the relevant discipline.
  3. You should have a minimum of 60% marks or CGPA 6.50 out of 10 if applying for admission in the General/EWS and OBC category, and a minimum of 55% marks or CGPA 6.00 out of 10 if you are applying for admission in the for SC/ST & PwD category. 
  4. You should have a valid GATE score in the relevant discipline. 

Application Procedure

Applications for admissions to the Machine Learning and Computing PG course of the Mathematics Department should be submitted at the IIST portal- https://admission.iist.ac.in/

Applications for admission to all other PG courses should be submitted at the Centralized Counselling portal- https://ccmt.admissions.nic.in/

Application Fee

For General, OBC and EWS category students: Rs. 600/-

For SC, ST, PwD, and female category students: Rs. 300/-

The application fee should be paid in online mode only.

After Selection

Once you are selected for admission, you are required to pay a Seat Acceptance Fee of Rs. 14,200/-. The balance fee can be paid at a later date, as informed by email.

Important Dates

  • Online applications open: 16th May 2025
  • Online applications close: 12th June 2025
  • Last date to submit the application fee online: 12th June 2025
  • Display of shortlisted candidates for the interview: 18th June 2025
  • Interview of candidates (through video conferencing): 20th to 27th June 2025
  • Display of the rank list after the interview: 3rd July 2025
  • Fee payment of First Allotment: 4th July 2025
  • Reporting date at IIST: 1st August 2025
  • Start of all PG classes: 4th August 2025
  • Closing of PG admissions: 14th August 2025
  • In case of vacancies, display of the fresh allotment list: Every Tuesday and Friday at 5 p.m.
  • Remitting of the stipulated fees for candidates in the allotment list: On or before the subsequent Tuesday and Friday, 11 a.m., to confirm their candidature to the branch 
  • Revalidation dates (only for Machine Learning and Computing program): 25th July 2025, 5 p.m. to 29th July 2025, 11 a.m.
