Urdu IAS Study Centre Lucknow Free Coaching for minorities for Civil Services Exams 2025

The Urdu IAS Study Centre, Lucknow, a Govt.- established centre under the aegis of the Uttar Pradesh Urdu Akademi, has announced admission for the 11th batch (2025-26) for free coaching to prepare for Civil Services exams. Students will get free hostel and mess facilities. Interested candidates should register online by 5th July 2025. The admission entrance test will be conducted on 13th July 2025 in Delhi, Lucknow, and Prayagraj.

Those keen to get admission must appear for an admission test. Successful candidates enrolled in the program do not have to pay any program fees. They will be provided with free lodging and food with access to campus facilities, such as the library, computer lab, etc. However, a caution money of Rs. 5000/- must be deposited at the time of admission. This amount will be refunded once the coaching program is completed, but not in case of misuse of facilities and other disciplinary issues. Lectures will be delivered by qualified faculty in Hindi, Urdu, and English medium.

Number of Seats: 77 (62 seats for male candidates, 15 seats for female candidates)

Eligibility Requirements

  • You should have completed your Graduation
  • You should not be less than 21 years of age and not more than 32 years of age as of 31st March 2025 
  • Admission to the centre is limited to students belonging to minority communities, namely, Muslims, Sikhs, Christians, Buddhists, Parsis, and Jains only.

Application Process

  1. Submit the application for the admission test online at the official website- https://uaentrance.in/urduakademi.aspx
  2. Pay the application fee online through the IOB Pay facility of Indian Overseas Bank
  3. Upload a copy of the online fee receipt on the admission portal of the website

Registration fee: Rs. 500/-

Admission Test Format

The test has 250 marks with two papers, one of 100 Multiple-Choice Questions (2 marks for a correct answer, one-third negative marking for an incorrect answer), and the second an essay of 50 marks.

Duration: 2 hours for Paper-1 (MCQs), 1 hour for Paper-2 (essay)

  • 80 questions - General Studies, with questions from History, Geography, Polity, Economics, Science, Environment, and Current Affairs
  • 20 questions - Civil Services Aptitude Test (CSAT) with questions from Maths, English, and Reasoning

Important Dates

  • Last date to submit the online form: 5th July 2025
  • Entrance Exam date: 13th July 2025
  • Entrance exam result: 21st July 2025 (results will be displayed on the centre's notice board and on the official website)
  • Counselling for admission: 30th and 31st July 2025
  • Start of the coaching classes: 1st August 2025.

Outhouse Hindi Film Review

Outhouse directed by Sunil Sukthankar and produced by Mohan Agashe, also playing one of the characters, is a charming film on the generational divide. The film was screened last month at the Third Eye Asian Film Festival in Mumbai and Thane, Maharashtra. On the face of it, Outhouse is about two elders, namely Nana, played by Agashe, and Aadima played by Sharmila Tagore who find themselves in conflict over the rightful owner of her grandson Neel’s pet poodle after it goes missing. But within that story arc, the writer, the late Sumitra Bhave, makes the film a gentle paean on urban loneliness, working women’s struggles, the precocity of children, and the fraught terrain of marriages and peripatetic lives.
