The National Book Trust India Online Book Publishing Course 2025 - Eligibility, Dates, Fee, Application Process

The National Book Trust, India (NBT) has announced applications open for the three-month online comprehensive course in book publishing. Graduates keen to pursue a career in the field of book publishing can submit their applications by 20th September 2025. The course is scheduled from October 2025 to January 2026, will all sessions online every Saturday and Sunday, led by experts and professionals in the field of book publishing. A certificate of participation will be awarded on completing the entire course, including project work.

NBT Online Book Publishing Course Eligibility Requirements

1. You must be at least a Graduate in any discipline (both degrees and diplomas are acceptable) 

2. You should have a direct or indirect relation to the publishing industry

3. You should have a keen interest in learning to pursue a career in the field of book publishing

NBT Online Book Publishing Course Dates

The three-month comprehensive course in book publishing will be conducted online from 4th October 2025 to 4th January 2026 with a total of 56 sessions across 28 days. 

On the first day you will attend the half-hour inaugural session at 10 a.m. following by the first learning session from 10.45 a.m. to 11.30 a.m., and then from 11.45 a.m. to 1 p.m. 

For the rest of the course duration, you will attend two sessions daily, the first from 10 a.m. to 11.15 a.m. and the second from 11.45 a.m. to 1 p.m. 

NBT Online Book Publishing Course Modules

There are a total of four modules for the NBT Online Book Publishing Course with English as the medium of instruction. The modules are-

• Module One: Inauguration and Introduction to Publishing - 4th October to 26th October 2025
• Module Two: Editorial - 1st November to 30th November 2025 
• Module Three: Design and Production - 6th December to 21st December 2025
• Module Four: Marketing and Sales - 27th December 2025 to 4th January 2026

NBT Online Book Publishing Projects and Internship

As part of the course, you must complete assigned study work and practical projects before 30th January 2026. This could include, for example, studying a specific area of book publishing, drafting a dummy book, creating a business plan for a publishing house, and the like. These are mandatory tasks.

You can also undertake an internship at any publishing house in India before 26th February 2025. However, the internship is not mandatory.

NBT Online Book Publishing Course Fee and Payment Mode

The total fee for the entire course is Rs. 8,850/- (including GST) for each participant. You have to make the payment online to the NBT account (refer to the official notification for bank details. The course fee will be refunded in case you do not get admission to the course.

Note- In the application form, you must mention the transaction ID of the payment, and the account holder's name, bank and branch.

Send the completed form in pdf format only to  nbtpublishingcourse@gmail.com along with relevant attachements. The list of documents to be attached are-

• A self-attested copy of your degree certificate (s)
• A self-attested copy of work experience
• A self-attested copy of proof of address 
• A self-attested copy of proof of date of birth 
• A scanned recent passport-size photograph
• A statement of purpose

The last date for receipt of applications is  20th September 2025.
