National Institute of Securities Markets (NISM) Residential and Non-Residential Long-Term Programs Admissions 2026

The National Institute of Securities Markets (NISM), Mumbai invites applications for admission to its long-term academic programs for the upcoming academic session starting in 2026. There are both residential and non-residential programs, including some in online/hybrid mode.

Residential Programs

1. Post Graduate Diploma in Management (Securities Markets) 

Duration: 2-year full-time program.

Brief Features: The curriculum includes diverse aspects of securities markets, such as corporate finance, portfolio management, economics, derivatives and risk management, mutual funds, investment banking, and more, with an industry internship.

Eligibility: Bachelor’s Degree of minimum 3 years' duration and obtained at least 50% marks.

Valid CET Score: You should qualify in any one of these all-India Common Admission Tests - CAT 2025, XAT 2026, CMAT 2026, or MAT 2025/2026.

2. Post Graduate Program in Investments & Securities Markets

Duration: One year 

Brief Features: The curriculum includes diverse aspects of securities markets, such as corporate finance, portfolio management, economics, derivatives and risk management, mutual funds, investment banking, and more, with an industry internship.

Eligibility: A 3-year Bachelor's Degree (in any discipline excluding performing arts) from a recognised university and a minimum of 2 years of full-time work experience after graduation at Junior Management cadre in a Corporate or BFSI (Banking, Financial Services and Insurance) organization (check the official website to know optional criteria via the advanced route and professional route)

3. LLM (Investment and Securities Laws)

Duration: One year 

Brief Features: Offered in collaboration with the Maharashtra National Law University, Mumbai (MNLU). The curriculum includes topics related to corporate law and securities regulation, such as the regulation of issuance of securities, secondary trading of securities, market regulation, corporate finance, derivatives, investment by a person resident outside India, regulation of banking and financial institutions, and more.

Eligibility: LLB Degree or an equivalent examination with a minimum of 50% of marks of minimum 3 years' duration and obtained at least 50% marks (check the official website to know the eligibility criteria for industry/institutions-sponsored candidates).

Entrance Test Score: You are required to qualify NISM Aptitude Test 2026 exam conducted by NISM.

4. Post Graduate Certificate in Securities Markets

Duration: One year 

Brief Features: Offered in collaboration with ICCI Bank. The program aims to create skilled professionals for the securities market, such as analysts, fund managers, treasury dealers, institutional sales professionals, and investment advisors. Classroom training in the first three terms is followed by an internship at the ICCI Group, with stipends offered for both.

Eligibility: Graduate in any discipline (minimum 55% in graduation) and passed 12th and 10th exams with a minimum of 60% + should have studied mathematics at the intermediate level. Entrance Test Score: You are required to qualify the entrance test and psychometric profiling/personal interview conducted by NISM.

Non-Residential Programs

1. Post Graduate Program in Financial Planning 

Duration: One year (confirm this at the official website)

Brief Features: The program integrates NISM's academic curriculum with Financial Planning Standards Board India (FPSB)'s CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® (CFP) certification. The curriculum will develop knowledge and skills in investment planning, tax planning, retirement planning, risk management, and estate planning and start a career in the field of financial advisory services.

3. PG Certification in FINTECH 

Duration: 10-month weekend program (live, online mode)

Brief Features: The program is in collaboration with the NSE Academy Limited (NAL) to provide technological skills for applications in banking, financial services, insurance, IT and other fields, with a capstone project towards the end of the program. Learning modules include an introduction to FinTech, financial markets and digital banking in the first term, Use Cases of Blockchain in the second term, and Financial Products & Crowd Funding in the third term.

4. Certificate Program in Data Science (Basic)

Duration: 170 hours (online classes, tutorials, practice sessions and recorded videos) + a 2-day campus immersion

Brief Features: The program is for those who have limited technical background (some coding experience and familiarity with basic statistics) or those with no prior experience and who wish to gain hands-on experience working with real-world datasets and build a data science portfolio in securities markets. 

Eligibility: Passed Class 12 with minimum 50% marks (Maths as a subject) from any recognized board or graduation with 50% marks from a recognised University/ Institute.

Brief Features: The program provides in-depth knowledge of, and expertise in, the application of data science in Securities Markets. Learning modules include financial econometrics, fintech concepts, algorithmic trading, machine learning, introduction of Big Data, and more.

Eligibility: Graduation with 50% marks from a recognised University/Institute or completed any Basic Level Program in Data Science from a recognized Institute/University of minimum 6 months.

Entrance Test: You are required to qualify NISM Aptitude Test (NISM AT 2026) exam conducted by NISM.
