Chennai Mathematical Institute M.Sc. Computer Science Course Structure and Fees

Course Overview
The two-year M.Sc. Computer Science course which is over four semesters has a flexible curriculum which encourages not just learning advanced concepts in the field, but also encouraging you to take up research work. Placement opportunities are provided for further studies in India and abroad as well as for employment.
Course Details
1. Duration: Two years.
2. Requirement of Credits: 64 credits through 16 regular
courses.
3. Fee: Rs.1,00,000/- per semester.
4. Scholarships: Approximately equal to the number of students
in recent batches will be offered, with full waiver of fees + a few Fellowships
may be offered with a monthly allowance of Rs.6,000/- + financial background of
a student may be considered for partial/full waiver of fees.
5. Eligibility: Graduate Degree in B.A., B.Sc., B.Math.,
B.Stat., B.E., B.Tech. or equivalent, with a robust background in the field of
Computer Science + Entrance exam scores.
Course Modules
The core courses of the M.Sc. Computer Science course are Programming Languages, Basic Programming Laboratory, Design and Analysis of Algorithms, Theory of Computation Mathematical Logic. If you have already successfully completed one of these courses during your undergraduate academic program, then the Board of Studies may allow you to take up an alternative course in order to make up the requisite requirement of the total number of courses to be completed.
The electives in the M.Sc. Computer Science course may vary from year to year. In the past years, there have been a diverse range, including Cryptography and Security, Data Mining and Machine Learning, Computational Geometry, Randomized Algorithms, etc.
You also require to complete a project/dissertation which
carries 16 credits.
